In the second quarter of 2023, TikTok, a social media platform featuring short videos, took down over 10.4 million videos from its website due to violations of community norms.
In keeping with its commitment to battling false information and fostering a welcoming environment, TikTok published its most recent community rules enforcement report for the second quarter of 2023 (April–June) on Thursday, the social media company stated in a statement.
According to the report, 92.5% of the objectionable videos in Pakistan were taken down in less than a day, and 83.6% of the films were taken down before anybody could watch them.
In Q2 2023, the proactive removal rate was 98.6%. Prioritizing the safety of young users, TikTok also terminated 18,823,040 accounts globally that were thought to be associated with individuals under the age of 13.
The study emphasized TikTok’s continued dedication to upholding a secure and friendly community and gaining confidence through responsibility.
According to a TikTok study, 106,476,032 films were deleted globally in the second quarter of this year. This represents around 0.7% of all videos that were published on TikTok.
“Of these, automated systems eliminated 66,440,775 videos, and after review, 6,750,002 videos were restored.”
For the second, the proactive eradication rate was 98.6%.
The statement said that the standards apply to everyone and all sorts of material, with TikTok working to guarantee consistency and equality in their enforcement. “TikTok’s community guidelines are designed to foster a safe, inclusive, and authentic experience for all users,” it said.
TikTok employs a blend of cutting-edge technology and human scrutiny to detect, evaluate, and respond to content that transgresses its community rules.
“To provide complete transparency, the community rules enforcement report, which is released quarterly, offers insights into the number and nature of deleted content and accounts.”
