According to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the current USD 1 billion annual bilateral trade volume has the potential to increase significantly once the Pakistan-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Free Trade Agreement takes effect.

In a meeting with General Sheikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain, on Wednesday, the prime minister shared these opinions. He was also asked to deliver the greetings of Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, and Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.

In a news statement, the PM Office Media Wing stated that the prime minister wished General Sheikh Mohammad a warm welcome to Pakistan and thanked the Bahraini leadership for their congratulations on his reelection.

Both parties demanded an immediate ceasefire and the prompt delivery of humanitarian aid to the defenseless Palestinians, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, when discussing the situation in Gaza.

The prime minister stated that Pakistan and Bahrain have long-standing fraternal ties and that their great defense cooperation will be further strengthened by his visit. He mentioned the King Hamad Nursing Hospital that was being built in Islamabad, claiming that it was the King’s gift to the Pakistani people. —Organizations
