Pak vs. India: Bad news for cricket fans as the Colombo weather is still not clear.

Despite having a reserve day for the highly anticipated match between Pakistan and India, there are fewer chances that the game will be finished today (Monday) due to the unclear weather in Colombo and the forecast for heavy showers later in the day.

The weather service has issued a warning of heavy rains after 4 o’clock, and it has been raining steadily in the capital of Sri Lanka since early in the morning.

The Asia Cup’s most eagerly anticipated match was postponed on Sunday due to rain. The mouthwatering Super Four match between the bitter rivals will now take place today.
When play was halted due to heavy rain, India had reached 147-2 in 24.1 overs after being put into bat. Before deciding that the remainder of the game would be played on the reserve day, the umpires held off for nearly four hours.

After the Indian innings, the Sept. 2 group match between the heavyweights in Pallekele was called off due to rain.

After Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to field at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday, the Indian openers made a strong impression.

In recent matches, Shaheen Afridi had troubled India’s top order, but Rohit Sharma and his team appeared to have discovered a remedy for the left-arm speedster.

In particular, Shubman Gill softened Pakistan’s ferocious pace attack when he and Rohit joined forces for an exhilarating 122-run opening stand.

After a costly and wicketless opening spell, Gill (58) twice smashed Afridi for three boundaries in a single over, forcing the bowler out of the attack.

As boundaries poured in from both ends, Rohit managed to survive Naseem Shah’s hostile opening spell before asserting himself. He hit four sixes in his brisk 56.

When Rohit holed out in the deep and Afridi returned to end Gill’s slick knock to bring Pakistan back into the match, the spinner Shadab Khan broke the partnership.

Play was interrupted by rain as KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, who were batting on eight and were substituted for Shreyas Iyer due to back spasms, were about to steady India.

Rahul, who had 17 points, appeared at ease in his first game following his recovery from a thigh injury in May.
