In partnership with China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), Pakistan’s Multi-Mission Communication Satellite PAKSAT MM1 was launched on Tuesday, according to a statement released by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco).
The launch from China’s XiChang Satellite Launch Centre (XSLC) is slated for May 30, 2024. A component of the National Space Programme 2047 is this project.
In order to satisfy Pakistan’s expanding demands for connection and communication, Suparco and the Chinese aerospace industry collaborated to create PAKSAT MM1, according to a statement made public today.
The announcement said, “This satellite project signifies the People’s Republic of China and Pakistan’s technological cooperation.”
Suparco said that the satellite, which is outfitted with cutting-edge communication technology, will be essential to the nation’s socioeconomic advancement and help Pakistan become a “digital Pakistan.”
The media will be able to watch the launch event live from Suparco’s locations in Islamabad and Karachi.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan has launched a minimum of six spacecraft, namely iCube Qamar, PAKSAT 1-R, PRSS-1, PakTes 1-A, BADR-A, and BADR-B.
Following a successful launch into space, Pakistan’s first satellite mission to the moon, iCube-Qamar, returned the first photographs of the moon ever taken in lunar orbit earlier this month.
With this historic achievement, Qamar becomes the first satellite from Pakistan to reach lunar orbit and finish its 12-hour revolution. Overall, scientists have praised this accomplishment as a major triumph.
