Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday and reiterated the enduring commitment and trust between Pakistan and China, referring to their alliance as one created in “heaven.”
Leaders and delegates from almost 140 different countries attended the summit, which was hosted at the Great Hall of People in conjunction with the Third Belt and Road Forum.
The acting prime minister emphasized that Pakistan will stand firmly behind China and will not let anything jeopardize their important strategic alliance.
Prime Minister Kakar stressed that Pakistan will show its commitment to the “One China policy” via deeds rather than simply words during his opening comments at the meeting.
“I had the honor of meeting President Xi Jinping at Beijing’s famous Great Hall of People. We talked about the many facets of the complex relationship between Pakistan and China and reiterated our enduring friendship, unwavering strategic partnership, close economic and trade connections, and CPEC.
In a post on his X account, the PM stated, “I congratulated him on the success of the third Belt and Road Forum and the 10th anniversary of BRI. President Xi earlier extended a warm welcome to the premier and the delegation he was traveling with, which also included prominent individuals like interim federal ministers for commerce, industries, and production Gohar Ejaz, Jalil Abbas Jilani, Sarfraz Bugti, and finance. Prime Minister Kakar thanked President Xi for inviting him to this “historic” meeting and praised the event’s outstanding success.
President Xi’s speech at the Belt and Road Forum was praised by Prime Minister Kakar as “profound, deep, and visionary,” promising a wealth of prospects, particularly for Pakistan.
