Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, and the management committee announced an ambitious plan to revitalise Pakistan’s cricket at a recent meeting at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
The committee members unanimously endorsed the new three-year financing model for central contracts proposed by the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team before the meeting ever got started. Zaka Ashraf’s perseverance and negotiating abilities were praised for being crucial in achieving the intended result.
Addressing the issue of Pakistan’s restricted participation in international cricket due to its hot and muggy summers was one of the main subjects on the agenda. The committee made the decision to look into northern Pakistan’s potential as a location for international cricket in order to overcome this difficulty. Additionally, PCB is starting a larger infrastructural renovation. In order to ensure sustainability and energy efficiency, the board is thinking of installing solar panels at each of the four international stadiums.
Additionally, there are plans to put mist fans in all stadiums’ general enclosures to provide supporters with comfort during sweltering summer games. To improve the overall spectator experience, the digital screens in these stadiums will also be improved.
