Students had put forward a demand at Lahore high court (LHC) to recheck the medical and dental college admission test (MDCAT) for the session of 2020. This demand has been rejected by LHC and they have denied the rechecking.
A candidate Fatima Siddique and her other companions filed a plea regarding the matter, but it was named to be not maintainable by a bench led by Aisha A. Malik
It was stated by the candidates that many of the MCQ’s were out of syllabus which became the reason for majority of students failing in the entrance exam.
They further added that the Punjab Medical Commission (PMC) did not keep up with their end of commitment to give grace marks to students.
The lawyer also interrogated the legitimacy of a number of provisions of the PMC Act 2020, presenting the argument that the provisions dishonored fundamental rights established by the constitution.
It was requested to the court that the admission process be stopped for now and notice must be taken on the rechecking of the exams.
But, this petition was ruled out as the MDCAT regulations had no option regarding the rechecking of the exams
