Just in time for Eid ul Fitr, the newly elected federal government raised the price of fuel on Sunday night by Rs. 9.66 a litre for the upcoming two weeks.
A notice from the Finance Division states that the price of fuel has changed from Rs. 279.75 to Rs. 289.41 per litre.
High-speed diesel (HSD) now costs Rs. 285.56 a litre, a reduction of Rs. 3.32.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Finance, the price of HSD has slightly decreased over the past two weeks while the price of petrol (also known as motor gasoline) has grown on the global market.
The government’s strategy of passing on price variances in the foreign market to the local market is said to be aligned with the aforementioned pricing adjustments.
As a result, the consumer price of HSD has been lowered once again following a reduction in mid-March 2024.
