Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started a series of special flights to Najaf and Iraq for the convenience of Shia pilgrims on the occasion of Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
According to Aaj News, the air operation called “Operation Ashura” started on July 5, in which additional flights will be operated on July 7 and 11. The special flights of PIA will not only take Shia pilgrims to Najaf but also They will also ensure their safe return.
The repatriation operations will begin on July 20, with flights scheduled to bring pilgrims back from Najaf on July 21 and July 25.
