Yesterday the government worked on measures to control the second wave of Coronavirus in Pakistan, with emphasis on strict observance of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and avoiding any chance of another lockdown in order to protect people’s living.
Prime Minister Imran Khan held two meetings one with the federal cabinet and the other with National Coordination Committee (NCC) regarding discussion on Covid-19, he stressed that the country could not afford another closure of businesses via lockdown.
After he received briefings related to covid-19 and its second wave, Imran khan told that “The country cannot afford lockdown again,”
Holding tight to the strategy of ‘smart lockdown’, Imran Khan called for making sure that there’s a balance between pandemic control measures and means of support of the people.
Prime Minister also urged provinces to make certain the carrying out of the trace, test and quarantine (TTQ) and smart lockdown strategies.
Imran Khan told the cabinet that attention was required in view of the developing coronavirus situation but made clear that the government would not impose a lockdown and shut down businesses so that the economy could continue to prosper.
