Reportedly, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be hosting draft of the most awaited Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 on January 9, 2021. The draft which was supposed to be happening in National Stadium Karachi will now instead is believed to be held in the open air at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
PCB has been considering the option of an open-air venue to hold the event keeping in view the dreadful situation of the pandemic; Covid-19 all over Pakistan. It has been reported that PCB has gone to the Punjab government and asked for the approval of the venue.
The draft will be constrained to significant officials only and the number of people attending will be minimized as much as possible due to the pandemic.
Currently the retention window for the Pakistan Super League franchises is open and most probably it will be closing in the coming few days. Each PSL franchise will be permitted to retain a maximum of 8 players from their team.
It has been confirmed that PSL 2021 will be starting from February 2021.
