Punjab announces early summer holidays amid sweltering heat

In the midst of the oppressive heat, the Punjab administration has declared early summer vacations for Lahore and other Punjab schools.

All state-run and private schools will have their early summer break beginning on May 25 and lasting until May 31.

In response to widespread complaints from parents, the government implemented strict regulations to protect kids from severe weather.

In a video message, Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that, given the current heat wave, student health and safety are of utmost concern.

Conditional permission has been given to these institutions to stay open for the express purpose of finishing exams. 

The Punjabi administration declared this week that all schools in the province would be closed from June 1 to August 14. In order to reduce exposure to intense heat, schools have to be open from Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
