A passenger traveling to Qatar was offloaded at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore after 13 9mm bullets were discovered in his laptop bag during a screening.

The Airport Security Force (ASF) apprehended the passenger, identified as Shan Sadiq, a resident of Walton. The bullets were found during a routine scan of his laptop bag. Shan was handed over to Sarwar Road Police Station, and a case was registered against him under Sections 13-2a of the 1965 Arms Act.

According to the FIR, Shan Sadiq could not provide a valid license for the bullets. He claimed the bullets were purchased under his father’s licensed arms and unintentionally left in the laptop bag.

Shan Sadiq was traveling on Qatar Airways flight QR-621 to Doha. He works as a traffic assistant for Qatar Airways in Doha. He explained that the bullets belonged to his father and were mistakenly left in the laptop bag, which he unknowingly carried to the airport.

The FIR notes that Shan had passed through ASF’s initial security checks and the immigration counter without detection. The bullets were discovered during a final security check by ASF before boarding.

The case has been handed over to the Sarwar Road Police for further investigation.
