Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, landed in Pakistan on Thursday on a formal visit.

Khulaifi is travelling to South Asia as a special envoy of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrehman bin Jassim Al Thani, the State of Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister, according to a statement from the Foreign Office.

In the capital, the visiting dignitary will meet with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the Foreign Office, high-level visits and exchanges have long-standing, complex bilateral relations between Islamabad and Doha.

In the past, two locations have had amicable and cooperative relations and participated in a range of cooperative activities, such as commerce, investment, and defence.

The Arab country continued to be a major source of investment in Pakistan, especially in industries like energy and real estate, and both Muslim countries diplomatically backed one another on a range of regional and global concerns.

Additionally, Qatar has assisted in mediating disputes affecting Pakistan by, for example, setting up peace negotiations with the Taliban. Mutual respect and collaboration are the defining characteristics of the relationship between Qatar and Pakistan overall.
