While certain sections of the South Asian nation struggle with an increasingly severe heatwave, the administration of Balochistan has announced summer holidays in schools.
Authorities from the Balochistan Education Department have declared that schoolchildren will get summer holidays starting on May 15 in order to shield them from the intense heat.
Summer holidays in regions that experience high temperatures will start on May 15 and go until July 31, according to a notice sent by regional officials.
The administration of Balochistan has only planned 10-day holidays for colder regions, starting on July 22 and ending on July 31.
The summer break for universities and schools in Punjab will start on June 1 and go through August 14, 2024.
The provincial government hasn’t yet made an official announcement in this respect, though.
