Health officials in Sindh have issued special instructions to airports and airlines in response to a significant rise in pink eye infection or conjunctivitis.
Provincial Border Health Services (BHS) director Dr. Murtaza Shah announced the new regulations in a statement. In an effort to lessen the spread of pink eye infections, these directives are directed at both medical personnel and airlines.
Airlines operating in the area have been told to look out for travellers displaying pink eye symptoms and tell them to get in touch with the health department’s designated doctor who is stationed at the airports. These recommendations do not call for preventing passengers with pink eye from travelling.
Dr. Shah made it clear that the health department’s medical professional will examine infected travellers and offer pertinent travel advice as necessary. Pink eye, which is well known for being contagious, can be brought on by either viruses or bacteria and spreads quickly from person to person.
People are urged to practise good hygiene and self-care to lessen their risk of catching or spreading pink eye. These steps are crucial for stopping the infection’s spread and ensuring the safety and health of the travelling public.
