On Monday, Skardu and Dubai will see regular foreign flights operate twice a week, on Monday and Friday.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will run these flights, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The first flight will depart from Skardu to Dubai on April 29 and arrive on May 4.
After reaching a significant milestone last year, when 11 flights were performed between Skardu and Dubai on various occasions, the decision was made to begin operating regular weekly flights.
Larger aircraft may only land at Skardu Airport, which was designated as “international” by former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan in December 2021.
