General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s (PA) unwavering support for the caretaker administration’s (CG) continuation of policies on Monday in an effort to revive the nation’s economy and guide Pakistan towards progress and prosperity.
The PM Secretariat reports that the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (4th) Apex Committee Meeting took place today in order to maintain the initiative’s successful momentum.
The COAS, the entire federal cabinet, chief ministers, provincial ministers, and senior government officials were present at the meeting, which was presided over by caretaker prime minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. A thorough overview of SIFC initiatives was presented to the cabinet, including updates on key developments and benchmarks reached so far in a short period of time.
The “whole of government approach” used by SIFC to achieve horizontal and vertical synergy was recognised by the prime minister for its effective operation. The apex committee commended SIFC for its outreach efforts to gain traction globally and for its ongoing relationships with friendly nations, which have included fruitful visits from high-level delegations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS).
The committee demonstrated its resolve and support for maintaining the positive trajectory towards the recovery of the nation’s economy. It also expressed confidence in SIFC initiatives. The committee also gave its support to the projects that had been approved by the previous administration for luring capital to vital industries like agriculture, zoos, livestock, mining, minerals, IT, and energy.
In the end, the prime minister issued a directive to leverage the enabling environment already attained through SIFC to hasten the realisation of identified projects.
