The first Apple electric car is expected in 2028

According to reports, Apple has chosen to move back the debut date of Project Titan, delaying the much-awaited electric vehicle (EV) from 2026 to 2028. There are hints that Apple is reducing its original intentions for sophisticated self-driving features in addition to this delay.

While Apple’s original plan called for a “level four” autonomous driving system that could manage the majority of driving situations without the need for human involvement, the company has now changed its approach to include “level two” autonomy.

This level is similar to Tesla’s Autopilot in that it lets the car perform some tasks on its own, but it still needs the driver to maintain control.

For Apple, the choice to take a more cautious approach to autonomous driving is regarded as a turning point. The board of the firm is now expected to consider the possibilities and decide whether to continue Project Titan EV or perhaps scale back its initial goals.

This change in approach highlights the difficulties and nuances associated with creating cutting-edge autonomous driving systems for mass-market automobiles.
