The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced by Rs. 9.95 per kg by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), which means that an 11.8 kilogram household cylinder would cost Rs. 117.47, or around 3.8 percent, less in November.
The regulator said that the price of LPG will be Rs. 250.98 per kg in November instead of Rs. 260.93 in October. In November, the price of a household 11.8 kg cylinder was fixed at Rs. 2,962.17, down from Rs. 3,079.64 in October.
The producer price of LPG (propane 40% and butane 60%) for November has been calculated by OGRA and is Rs. 173,069.32 per ton.
The highest producer price was calculated to be Rs. 209,731.22 per ton for November after adding an 18% sales tax of Rs. 31,992.9 per ton and a fuel levy of Rs. 4,669 per ton. Thus, Rs. 2,474.83 per kg was determined to be the highest producer price for the domestic cylinder weighing 11.8 kg for the current month.
In addition to an additional 18 percent GST (or Rs. 6,300 per ton on this margin) for consumer pricing, an additional Rs. 35,000 per ton of marketing, distribution, and transportation margin was added to the maximum producer price. As a result, the maximum LPG price for consumers was set at Rs. 251,031.22 per ton (or Rs. 2,962.17 for each 11.8 kg cylinder) for November.
It is important to note that the government increased the cost of LPG for the months of September and October 2023 by Rs. 39 per kg and Rs. 20.86 per kg, respectively. Since the Pakistani rupee strengthened against the US dollar last month, rates have been lowered today.
