The Driving Test Service has been established by the e-Khidmat Markaz at Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) as a part of the continuing online driving licence programme.
The purpose of the pilot project, which is a partnership between the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Punjab Traffic Police, is to improve the effectiveness of the province-wide driving licence issue procedure.
The Driving Test Service was launched at the e-Khidmat Centre ASTP as the first step in a larger plan to provide this service to all e-Khidmat Marakiz throughout Punjab.
As part of the pilot project, a conference was held to guarantee the Driving Test Services’ seamless integration into the current e-Khidmat framework.
The caretaker administration has already implemented a number of online tools to streamline the application procedure for a driver’s licence. The traffic police said last month that individuals may now conveniently renew their learners’ permits online from the comfort of their homes.
According to the Lahore Traffic Police, the use of online services would result in a 90% decrease in traffic at facilitation centres.
The provincial government formally instituted increased driving licence prices earlier this month. The Lahore Traffic Police said on X that anyone may now get a learner’s permit for a vehicle or motorbike for Rs. 500, valid for up to five years.
