A truck driver’s mother has her own son arrested for drug use. The woman fully assisted the police in busting the drug trafficking racket against her son.
According to Indian media reports, this incident happened in the Indian city of Chennai when a woman named Bagyalakshmi arrested her son Sriram, a driver who was loading goods, after being involved in a drug crime. The police arrived at Sriram’s house. Exported 630 ml ganja oil worth Rs 2 lakh.
The police team took the truck driver to the police station for questioning. He revealed that he had brought 300 ml hemp oil from Andhra Pradesh while returning from a cargo trip from Odisha. Sriram said it was part of a communication given by Arun from Kerala. He said he handed over the item to an unknown person on an alternate route in Madhavaram area of Chennai.
The police traced and arrested a man named Satish, Arun’s brother, from Vyasarpady, a nearby area of Chennai. Satish and Arun used Sriram and Parvezbatur as truck drivers to smuggle ganja from other states. They recently introduced hemp oil, claiming it was easy to smuggle because it was difficult for sniffer dogs to identify.
The racket came to light when Sriram consumed some of the 630ml hemp oil that was to be handed over to a local shopkeeper as per Arun’s instructions, but as soon as Sriram’s mother drank the oil, she Seeing the change in his behavior, he immediately informed the police and got his son arrested.
