Twitter has confirmed that the personal twitter account associated with Indian Prime minister, Narendra Modi got hacked on Thursday.
Several tweets were made from the account where the hacker apparently asked the public to make donations to a relief fund via cryptocurrency.
Similar high-profile accounts hacking attempt was made in July as well when some accounts associated to high-profile personalities were hacked including Joe Biden, Elon Musk, Kanye west.
This time the hacker’s target became Narendra Modi’s official twitter account which currently has more than 2.5 millions of followers.
His personal account with 61 million followers remained unaffected during this but official account got in the hands of hackers.
A statement by a twitter’s spokesperson read “We are actively investigating the situation. At this time, we are not aware of additional accounts being impacted,”
