The World Cup’s top seven teams will advance to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy in 2025.

The qualifying guidelines for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which will take place in Pakistan, have been made public by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The fact that Pakistan, the host country, will enter the competition as the eighth team is one notable alteration. The remaining seven teams will represent India in the ongoing ODI World Cup.

It’s noteworthy to note that the tournament’s structure—two groups of four, semifinals, and final—will remain the same as it did in earlier iterations.

Because they were not chosen for the 2023 ODI World Cup, nations like Ireland, Zimbabwe, and the West Indies will not be participating in the competition as a result of this regulation. This might imply that, given their present standings, even England, the ODI and T20 World Cup champions, would not be eligible for the Champions Trophy.
