The Play 50 Plus, Honour’s newest entry-level 5G phone, has gone on sale in China. Despite being a cheap phone, it has several noteworthy features, like a sizable battery, a fluid display, and more.
The display is a 6.8-inch IPS LCD with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and a 1080p resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels). The selfie camera has a punch-hole cutout, 850 nits of maximum brightness, and a 20:09 aspect ratio. For speedy unlocks, the fingerprint sensor is located on the side.
Hardware and software
The MediaTek Dimensity 6020 CPU inside the phone can work with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, which is a lot for a low-cost phone. The availability of a microSD card slot for storage expansion has not been mentioned by Honour.
The phone’s operating system, Magic OS 7.2, launches on top of Android 13.
Cameras
A 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth camera are housed in the sizable round camera holes on the rear, together with an LED flash. An 8MP camera is housed inside the punch-hole cutout for the selfie. Regarding video recording capabilities, nothing is known.
Pricing and battery
One of this phone’s standout qualities is the battery. A large 6,000 mAh battery cell with 35W fast-wired charging is used.
In China, the Honour Play 50 Plus is available for as little as $195. It comes in Magic Night Black, Mo Yuqing (green), Star Purple, and Streaming Silver, among other colours.
