According to ARY News, which cited sources, the interim government of Pakistan has planned to begin a phased “special anti-polio” operation in November.

This month’s journey, which is anticipated to begin later, will be the final drive of 2023.

Pakistan has made the decision to initiate a “special anti-polio campaign” following the discovery of a sample of the fatal disease in the sewage systems of 31 districts around the nation.

The anti-polio campaign will be conducted in two parts, the first from November 20 to 24, and the second from November 27 to December 3, according to sources inside the health ministry.

Over 44.5 million youngsters under the age of five will receive the vaccination and an additional dose of vitamin A throughout the campaign.

According to the sources, more than 300,000 frontline workers would participate in the anti-polio campaign.

Health experts stated that there was still a problem with polio and emphasized the need for cooperation among all parties to end the threat.

The fourth incidence of polio this year was revealed by Pakistan’s health ministry earlier on October 21, following the diagnosis of the illness in a 24-year-old city resident.

The only two nations in the world where polio is still prevalent are Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Anwaarul Haq Kakar, the acting prime minister, earlier promised that the government would oppose “anti-vaxxers” and fulfill the goal of having a polio-free Pakistan.
