Thunderstorm forecast of Meteorological Department

ISLAMABAD The Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of rain with thunder in different cities of the country and light snowfall on the mountains. According to the private TV channel Hum News, the Meteorological Department says that the weather will remain dry in most of the plains of the country, but in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Upper Punjab, it will be cloudy with strong winds and thundershowers. And there is a possibility of light snowfall on the high mountains.

Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to be cloudy, with strong winds and thundershowers Murree, Guliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock Chakwal and Jhelum apart from partly cloudy, strong winds and thundershowers are likely to occur in the morning hours. Meanwhile, hailstorm is also expected at a few places, however strong winds are expected in Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore and Sialkot, the weather will remain dry in other districts of Punjab.

The weather is likely to remain dry in most of the districts of Balochistan, while the forecast will remain partly cloudy in the northern districts. Hot and dry weather has been predicted in most of the districts of Sindh. Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mansehra and Abbottabad are likely to receive rain with strong winds and thunder while Peshawar, Khyber, Mohmand, Swabi, Haripur, Nowshera, Mardan, Kohat, Scattered rain and thundershowers are expected at few places in Karam, Hangu and Kirk. During this time, there may be hailstorm at few places. Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to remain cloudy in addition to strong winds and rain with thunder and light snowfall on high mountains On the other hand, heavy rain is continuing in Neelam valley with thunder and lightning, high tourist places including Ratigli, Baboon Valley, Patlian lake and mountains have also received snow. Yes, according to the district administration, there is a risk of landslides on the Neelam highway due to heavy rains, tourists and citizens should take precautionary measures during the rains.
