As of today, PM Imran Khan has stated the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)’s demands will be put forward in the parliament, as a result of an settlement with the party.
PM Imran Khan said this in a statement that the government has talked to the TLP and the party has taken the decision to extend the “deadline” set for the government from February to April 20.
It is relevant to mention here that the TLP had presented their demands for the French ambassador’s deportation, approval of the blasphemy bill, and a prohibition on French goods after blasphemous sketches were printed in France that had initiated a series of protests all over the Muslim world.
TLP’s chief Maulana Saad Rizvi had given government a deadline of February-16 for the demands to be approved, for which his arrest was required. On the other hand, his arrest, after police in Lahore walled his Iqbal Town house, has now been postponed.
The Punjab government clarfied that Rizvi’s name has been involved in the fourth schedule.
