Beginning today (Tuesday), Hazrat Ali bin Usman Hajwiri’s annual 980th Urs celebrations, also known as Data Ganj Bakhsh, will take place.
The caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Raza Naqvi, has received an invitation after the Awqaf Department completed the Urs preparations. After the chaadar is laid on the shrine, the three-day celebrations will start.
Additionally, today will see the opening of the milk stand. Academic conferences, recitations, Naat-Khwaani, and Mehfil-e-Samaa will all take place during the Urs. For the guests, food (langar) will also be provided.
Over 3,000 people will be deployed, and 155 CCTV cameras have been installed in connection with the Urs security. Thursday night will feature special prayers.
To complete the Urs arrangements, Caretaker Punjab Auqaf Minister Barrister Syed Azfar Ali went to the shrine on Monday.
The minister reportedly gave the CCPO and DIG Operations specific instructions to ensure impenetrable security during the Urs.
He also went over the security, hygiene, and Mehfil-e-Samaa arrangements.
Syed Azfar Ali claimed that the caretaker CM was personally overseeing the preparations for the yearly Urs.
He claimed that all administrative departments had received directives to provide the devotees with the best facilities possible.
He continued, “I will make sure that ‘Azan’ and ‘Jamatain’ are sacred.
The minister announced that colourful lights would be used to decorate the area around Data Darbar.
According to him, the Punjab Food Authority should make the best arrangements for milk and water “Langar” and “Sabeel.”
He declared that during the three days of the Urs, special teams for rescue, polio, dengue, and health would still be on duty.
