Foreign office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chauhdri has recently confirmed that the United Arab Emirates has suspended the services of issuing visit visas on a temporary basis until further notice. Different countries are effected by this decision of suspension of visas. Among these countries, Pakistan is included as well.
He clarified that UAE has made this decision in regard to the second wave of the global pandemic which is currently effecting different countries.
He added: “We are seeking official confirmation from the concerned UAE authorities in this regard,”
This suspension will not have an impact on the visas that have already been issued but to new ones that are supposed to be issued.
Pakistan International Airlines spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez told that no written instructions have been issued so far and people currently holding work visas were still allowed entry over there.
UAE airline Emirates had announced temporary service suspension in in June till the beginning of July after a bunch of Pakistani who landed in Hong Kong were tested positive for the coronavirus.
Kuwait had also banned commercial flight services to around 31 countries in August. The countries who were at high risk of the covid-19 spread were included in this category and Pakistan was one of these countries.
With the rising number of daily coronavirus cases in Pakistan, it has been declared by the authorities that this is the second wave the country is currently facing.
More the 2000 daily cases have been reported in the last month in the country. Major cities like Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad, Islamabad are highly affected.
