Recently the vaccine produced by the Pfizer-BioNTech had been going through trials. Today United Kingdom had given a green signal and approved the usage of the coronavirus vaccine made to be used for emergency.
This latest update has brought in a ray of hope in people as it might become the source of curbing the pandemic that has taken over all world activates.
Guardian, the British newspaper has stated that today the approval for this vaccine has been given by Medicines and Healthcare Products Regularity Authority (MHRA)
The procedure will be started soon as it is expected that the first batch of the vaccine will arrive in the United Kingdom in a few days. The government of UK has brought nearly 40 million doses of the vaccine. The vaccine had given out 95% efficiency in the final trials.
In a time period of 10 months only, Pfizer-BioNTech has been able to develop a vaccine against coronavirus which is the most efficient so far.
The guardian stated: “Today’s emergency use authorisation in the UK marks a historic moment in the fight against COVID-19. This authorisation is a goal we have been working toward since we first declared that science will win, and we applaud the MHRA for their ability to conduct a careful assessment and take timely action to help protect the people of the UK,”
It added: “As we anticipate further authorisations and approvals, we are focused on moving with the same level of urgency to safely supply a high-quality vaccine around the world. With thousands of people becoming infected, every day matters in the collective race to end this devastating pandemic.”
the high risk group or the vulnerable group will be the priority in receiving the vaccine doses.
