Certain claims about the Whatsapp “mute always” chat feature had been making rounds on this internet this year but users weren’t sure if it will actually happen or if these are just fake and random claims.
Up until now, whatsapp only allowed to mute a certain chat or group either for eight hours, a week or a year. There was no option available to mute that chat forever if a user wanted to.
Now the beta users have noticed that this option has been made official by the company and now users will easily be able to mute the chat permanently if they want to.
Basically by muting a certain chat, the users do not receive any notifications regarding the chat. They stay in touch with that person or group only if they want to open and check it. Whatsapp would not remind them if they are receiving any messages in that chat.
