Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has given his approval for the green electric buses for 103 Km long routes in Lahore.
Usman Buzdar also permitted employment of transportation supervisors, sub-inspectors and sergeants and focused to take essential measures for initiating electric bus service as soon as possible.
He also asked to change status of Lahore Transport Company (LTC) to Punjab Transport Company (PTC).
A meeting led by the Usman Buzdar also reflected on several possibilities for buying of the buses.
Usman Buzdar asked transport department to give in their recommendations and input concerning the buying process after bearing in mind all the options.
CM Punjab also declared that electric buses will be launched with public-private Corporation in rest of the province, which will aid in decreasing environmental pollution and smog in Punjab.
