Whatsapp announced its new privacy policy at the beginning of the year and stated that it will be effective from the coming month i.e. February.

The news about the latest privacy policy of the company brought a huge wave of outcry among the users which has now led the company to review their decision as now they have announced that the privacy policy will now be effective from May 16, three months from now.

A wave of panic was created when the company gave notification for the new privacy policy and the users were worried that the company can now easily access their chats, pictures and other personal info, hence no privacy.

People started to download other messaging apps to find an alternative such a telegram and signal. Signal was endorsed by Elon Musk. After which it was download by millions of users.

After all this situation Facebook has been trying to clarify the whole situation that they will not have any access to the user’s personal info.

When it comes to privacy invasion and personal user data, Facebook’s record has not been the best, so clarifying the new policy is bit difficult for company as of now as it had brought a major backlash.

So the only best option right now for the company was to either delay or totally diminish this new policy.

Hence now they have decided to delay the policy for three months, and then accordingly it will be effective in a better way from May 16th.
