As of 10 AM on November 30, 2022, Peshawar, the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, had the world’s worst air quality among major cities.

Peshawar currently has an air quality index (AQI) of 541, which is 109 points higher than Lahore’s AQI of 432, according to IQAir.

It should be noted that Peshawar is not rated as a city by IQAir. However, a separate search on the website reveals that out of all the cities, it has the worst air quality.

In addition, the PM2.5 level in Peshawar is currently 112.4 times greater than the annual air quality standard set by the World Health Organization (WHO). According to IQAir, the air quality has deteriorated to dangerous levels.

As a result, IQAir recommends wearing a mask outside, using an air purifier indoors, closing windows, and refraining from outdoor exercise.

It is also critical to draw attention to the fact that the AQI in Peshawar has remained above 400 for the past four days, which is extremely unhealthy and dangerous to human life.
