You can now create “reels-like” videos from your gallery using Google Photos.

For iOS and Android users, Google Photos has added a clever feature. The app can now quickly and easily produce highlight films with background music of your favorite subjects, thanks to artificial intelligence.

This functionality is now being rolled out for both iOS and Android; however, it could take a few days for it to show up on your device.

You’ll see a new “+” icon at the top of your timeline once it becomes available. You may choose “Highlight Video” from there. After that, you may continue by using Photos’ search feature to find particular locations, persons, or subjects you’d like to add. From here, the AI takes over, picking the right clips, a fitting background music, and a smooth synchronization of everything.

You may always physically reorganize the images and movies to your preference if the final result doesn’t live up to your expectations. This is how the feature appears when it is used.

It’s yet unknown if this function will be free for everyone or only accessible to Google One members who have paid for it. In any case, it looks like a really cool method to make material for social media, like Facebook or Instagram reels. All you would need to do is instruct Google Photos to record a video of your pet, and it would do the rest.

It was previously announced that the functionality would be accessible on both Android and iOS in a matter of days. Ensure that you regularly update your software via the iOS software store or Google Play store.
